Our Name

To us, Zensho means living completely. Of course, part of living completely is having a satisfying and challenging career. At Zensho, we provide information and make connections which help people with career choices. We recognize our actions and advice can affect lives. We seek to truly understand our clients and the people we represent. We seek to know and help you. This is why we are proud to be known as Zensho.

The inspiration for our name comes from Tesshu Yamaoka (1836-1888). He was a man of selfless action. Tesshu played an influential role in Japan’s restoration of the Emperor Meiji in 1868. He was perhaps better known, however, as a calligraphist and for the establishment of the Muto Ryu (No-Sword Martial Arts School). Later in life, Tesshu founded a hermitage named Zensho-an. It still exists in Tokyo’s Taito Ward.
